Shreeshan Wadekar, a name that is synonymous with melody for the last 20 years.
Early Days:
Born and raised in a humble family in Aurangabad, Shreeshan was an avid cricketer. Having played at several college and district-level tournaments, he loved the sport. At 16, he started training in Hindustani Classical vocals, which was when he realized his true calling. He decided to chase his true passion and hone his skills as a singer.
classical bent:
Shreeshan was initiated into classical singing by his Guru in Aurangabad, Shri. Girish Gosavi. He revered Ustad Gulam Mustafa Khan. His aspiration was fulfilled when he got the opportunity to learn from Ustad Shahid Hussain Khan of the same Gharana- Rampur Sahaswan.
Journey Continues
He continued his learning under the mentorship of Ustad Murtuza Gulam Mustafa, son of Gulam Mustafa Khan and Ustad Gulam Niyaz Khan, son of Akbar Khan Saheb. He also received training from another maestro, Ustad Mubarak Khan Saheb of the Kirana Gharana. With this solid Hindustani classical foundation, Shreeshan today can sing modern romantic songs with ease and pathos.

Shreeshan is a rare mix of entertainment and sound classical singing. He looks forward to more collaborations, having performed with several leading Bollywood playback singers, such as Abhijeet, Alka Yagnik, Neha Kakkar and Bhupender Singh. His aspiration to create a niche for himself in the Indian playback industry by mesmerising the audience makes him unstoppable.
Remarkabe Achievements
It is no wonder, that his most memorable day remains when he performed for Shri. Sachin Tendulkar, at a private event for being adorned with the Bharat Ratna!
